SPUP Community Development Center Foundation, Inc.<\/b>\n has evolved as a social welfare agency in response to one of the \nfunctions of the University which is community extension. As the \ncommunity development center of the University, it has catered to the \nneeds of its clientele system; individuals, groups, families, \ncommunities and schools and collaborate with partner welfare agencies \nand institutions for better outcomes in the local, national and \ninternational level. It was set up primarily to help respond to the \nneeds of the times by intervening appropriately to challenging \nsituations and bring about a better quality of life and well-being.<\/p>\n\n

It is duly licensed, registered and \ngranted accreditation by the Department of Social Welfare and \nDevelopment (DSWD) Standards Bureau as a Social Welfare Development \nAgency. SPUP-CDC Foundation, Inc. programs and projects are people \noriented, responsive to issues affecting people\u2019s existence, adaptive to\n change and development processes, and commits:<\/p>\n

    \n\t
  1. To promote the integral human \ndevelopment of the people who are poor and marginalized, especially the \nrural poor in order to alleviate their causes through trainings, \neducation and formation programs.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

  2. To provide opportunities for people \nin need to improve the quality of their lives through efficient and \neffective management of resources.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

  3. To conduct livelihood training activities, non-formal education projects and scholarship assistance.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

  4. To provide and accept grants, \ncontributions, donations and other forms of assistance\/financial aid, \ntechnical or in kind for the maintenance of the foundation and \nattainment of its purposes.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

  5. To provide scholarships and opportunities to poor farmers and their children, indigenous peoples and survivors of calamities;<\/p><\/li>\n\t

  6. To do such other things as are necessary for the accomplishment of its objectives.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    Thus, the foundation\u2019s community \nengagement programs, projects and activities are geared towards poverty \nalleviation, sustainability, productivity and self-reliance among the \nmembers of the community.<\/p>\n\n

    SPUPCDCFI empower the communities through:<\/p>\n

    1. VALUES\/SPIRITUAL FORMATION<\/b> \u2013 \nDevelopment or growth in the spiritual dimensions; attempts, means, \ninstruction & disciplines intended towards deepening of faith and \nfurtherance of spiritual growth; includes educational endeavors as well \nas the more in depth process of spiritual direction.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

    2. POLITICAL DEVELOPMENT<\/b> – \nDevelopment or growth in the political dimensions of life; i.e., \ncritical political\tawareness and participation in the exercise of \ncommunity development.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

    3. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT<\/b> – Development or growth in the economic dimensions of life; i.e., increase earning and income, better management of resources.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

    4. SOCIO – CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT<\/b> –\n Development or growthin the socio- cultural dimensions of life; i.e., \nincreased national consciousness, identity, unity and moral integrity.<\/p><\/li>\n\t

    5. ECOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT<\/b> \u2013 Pertains to development or growth in the ecological dimensions of life; care and protection for the environment.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
